Diego is a coffee producer from Herrera, Tolima. His farm, La floresta, is located between 1,736 meters above sea level. He cultivates mainly Caturra and Castillo varieties.

He has been involved in coffee production for over 33 years, gaining experience through family tradition and personal practice. Diego currently manages the farm alongside his wife and two full-time workers. During the harvest season, he hires 4 to 6 additional workers to support picking and processing activities.

Coffee on his farm is processed using the washed method, with fermentation lasting 20-24 hours. Drying is done in raised beds under sun and shade, taking around 15-20 days, depending on the weather. Emerson highlights the drying process as his favorite stage, focusing on uniformity and monitoring for consistency.

His current goals include increasing productivity, investing in infrastructure, and supporting his children's education. Diegos is also interested in exploring new processing techniques and varieties such as Pink bourbon to improve cup quality and competitiveness.

He notes that main challenges are unstable prices, climate variability, and limited access to financing. Still, he remains optimistic about the future and believes in the value of strong partnerships with transparent, quality-focused buyers.

We roast all of our coffee to order. We ship Monday-Wednesday. Coffees ordered after Wednesday will be shipped the following Monday.
